Hi Hanna,
Firstly thank you so much to everyone who sent me messages of support regarding my letter and video to Local Authority SEND Management. I am honoured to be able to advocate for parents in this way and I am so happy to know that my campaign resonates with so many of you. If you have missed it or if you'd like an easy way of sharing it, then I've put all the information on this webpage, just click here to access it.
A mentor and friend of mine has introduced me to a lovely book called The Brain Forest by Sandhya Menon. This is a great book for parents and teachers who would like to discuss neurodiversity and neurodivergence more widely, rather than a book on autism, ADHD or dyslexia specifically, for example. It didn't seem right to photograph every page so I've photographed some of the pages (see end of email) just to give you a flavour of the content so you can decide whether this might be a book you would like to buy.
I hope that this is helpful for you or for someone you know. Have a lovely week.
Hanna
P.S. I am now taking bookings for September assessment and support. Please have a look at Sensory Success if you are considering a sensory assessment and support for your child and family. I also have a couple of spaces on Sensory Confidence for only £149 if you would like to join my 6 month online programme that combines in-depth sensory training with membership to my supportive Sensory Confidence community. |
