INTRODUCING

SENSORY SUCCESS...

a comprehensive package that combines a sensory assessment and detailed professional report for your child, with online training and my highest level of parent support for 6 months.

With Sensory Success, you'll gain a clear understanding of your child's unique sensory needs and receive the necessary tools and support to implement recommended strategies both at home and at school.

Over the course of 6 months, I will provide dedicated support to help you overcome challenges and problem solve issues as they arise. Additionally, you'll have the invaluable opportunity to join a small close-knit community of parents who are going through similar difficulties.

SENSORY SUCCESS

IS FOR YOU IF...

  • Your child may have difficulties with certain sounds, with the feeling of clothing or hair cuts, they may have frequent meltdowns, they may be constantly on the move - rocking in their chair, spinning or fidgeting, they might struggle with being in busy shops and with standing in line, they might be 'fine' in school but explode when they get home or they might be struggling to attend school... You know they have sensory difficulties but you don't fully understand the issues or how best to help.
  • You feel confused, overwhelmed, tired and stressed out. You are frustrated by the lack of help and support and want to take action now so that your child is happier at home and at school.
  • You want the support of an experienced professional who has been there and navigated the difficult parent journey themselves. Someone who truly 'gets it' and really cares.
  • You want my highest level of support, knowing that I'm there when you need me for 6 whole months and that you can ask me anything.

WORKING WITH ME...

I absolutely love supporting parents to better understand their child's sensory needs.

I am caring, approachable and highly knowledgeable. I also have a great sense of fun!

I have 20 years therapy experience and postgraduate training in sensory integration. Alongside this, I am a mum of two children, one is autistic and attends a special school and one is AuDHD and now attends an alternative provision with an EOTAS package after having been out of school for over a year.

I am also neurodivergent myself with my own experience of sensory differences and I find this lived experience so helpful in my work.

WHAT YOU'LL GET

Assessment

Having a occupational therapy sensory focused assessment for your child means that you will be able to understand their specific needs and exactly what you can do to support them.

Assessments are suitable for ages 2+ and include:

  • Sensory & occupational participation questionnaires for parents/carers.
  • Questionnaire for nursery/school (if relevant).
  • In-person assessment of the child (usually at my Ulverston clinic). If the child is able to engage in standardised assessment then I use tests from the gold standard EASI assessment. The assessment is fun and I use low demand approaches.
  • Report with recommendations and resources for home and nursery/school.
  • Feedback Zoom meeting.

Support

I will be here for you for 6 months. All you need to do is ask me for what you need. You can email at any time during the 6 months.

I host a monthly online parent support group (see community section) and this is a further opportunity to receive support.

Parents have fed back that I was like "a poppy of hope" on their battlefield, that they were "blown away" by my expertise, that I gave "amazing advice" and kept them "grounded when making important decisions".

Training

You will have 6 months access to educational videos on a range of key sensory topics to work through in your own time.

The videos are organised into easy to follow modules and are typically 5-15 minutes long so you can fit them into your busy week.

Alongside the videos you have access to downloadable ideas sheets that you can keep forever; the perfect mix of theory and practical strategies.

You also have the opportunity to ask questions related to the training in the online parent support sessions and in the community newsfeed.

Parents tell me that the training makes a complex topic so easy to understand and they get lots of additional practical tips and ideas.

Community

You will become a member of my small supportive online community of parents who experience similar difficulties to you.

There will be the opportunity to share and celebrate parenting wins, seek support on difficult issues and share ideas and strategies.

The group is hosted on a secure online platform and there are monthly parent support meetups as well as a community newsfeed. Online meet ups take place once a month on Wednesdays 8pm-9pm, with the option to stay until 9.30pm to ask questions. If you cannot attend live then you can watch the recording.

Parents tell me that it is invaluable to be part of such a supportive group of people who are experiencing similar challenges.
