a parent advice, support and training package, designed for parents who are at the start of their journey into understanding what is going on for their child and what help they need to live a full, happy life. You will understand what is going on for your child from a sensory perspective and discover exactly what you can do to confidently support them.
SENSORY ESSENTIALS
IS FOR YOU IF...
- Your child experiences sensory challenges - whether struggling with noise, certain clothing and textures, constantly needing to move, or difficulty in busy environments. They may be having frequent meltdowns or exploding when they get home from nursery or school. You know they have sensory difficulties but you don't fully understand the issues or how best to help.
- You feel confused, overwhelmed, tired and stressed out. You are frustrated by the lack of help and support and want to take action now so that your child is happier at home and at nursery or school.
- You want the support of an experienced professional who has been there and navigated the difficult parent journey themselves. Someone who truly 'gets it' and really cares.
- You don't feel ready to commit to a full in-person sensory assessment. You feel more comfortable starting with my Sensory Essentials parent advice and support package to discover what you can do at home and at nursery/school to further help your child.
WHAT YOU'LL GET
Initial Assessment with Parents
Parents complete occupational therapy background history and sensory questionnaires. I analyse the information and tailor a bespoke consultation session to meet your family’s specific needs.
In-depth Online Consultation
Parents attend an extended session with me (approximately 1.5 hours). I will ask questions to ensure I have the full picture. I will then take each area of difficulty and offer insight into what is going on for your child. This transformative session combines discussing the theory so that you understand the ‘why’, with showing you the actual practical strategies you can use to further support your child at home and school. By the end of the session you will have a plan of action and feel equipped to start implementing the new strategies.
Resources
I will provide provide helpful resource sheets that you can print and use at home and at nursery or school. If relevant, I will also send a follow up email with links to recommended equipment and online resources.
Training
You will have one year's access to educational videos on a range of key sensory topics to work through in your own time.
The videos are organised into easy to follow modules and are typically 5-15 minutes long so you can fit them into your busy week.
Alongside the videos you have access to downloadable ideas sheets that you can keep forever; the perfect mix of theory and practical strategies.
Parents tell me that the training makes a complex topic so easy to understand and they get lots of additional practical tips and ideas.
Please note: Sensory Essentials is an online family support package and not an in-person sensory assessment (it does not include a direct child observation or report). If you would like a comprehensive in-person assessment with report please look at my Sensory Success package.

I have over 18 years therapy experience and postgraduate training in sensory integration. Alongside this, I am a mum of two children, one is autistic and attends a special school and one is AuDHD and now attends an alternative provision with an EOTIS package after having been out of school for over a year.
I am also neurodivergent myself with my own experience of sensory differences and I find this lived experience so helpful in my work.
