The training explores:

• Fluctuating arousal, regulation and capacity
• The importance of co-regulation and adult response
• Noticing what may be getting in the way of participation
• Adapting the task, environment and expectations
• Universal approaches that can support the whole classroom
• Practical movement and sensory strategies
• In-class and out-of-class regulation options
• Involving the child and respecting individual preferences
• How to observe, review and adapt support
• The NOTICE → WONDER → CHANGE → TRY → REVIEW framework

Staff will have the opportunity to see and try a range of sensory and movement equipment and consider how different strategies may help different children.

There will be time to ask questions and discuss challenges you are facing in your setting.

Training details

2–2.5 hours | £500 per school

Includes training for your staff plus supporting Move Regulate Learn resources.

I recommend allowing 2.5 hours where possible, as this gives staff more time to explore the practical elements, try equipment and ask questions. If you need the training to fit into a two-hour staff meeting or twilight session, I can adapt the delivery accordingly.

Why learn with me?

I have worked as an occupational therapist for more than 20 years, supporting children, families, schools and professionals in a range of settings. I have also worked in a consultancy role with local authorities, schools and charities, and I have extensive experience of delivering training to schools and professionals.

Move Regulate Learn has grown out of that experience, alongside my own lived experience of neurodivergence. It brings together practical approaches I have seen help in school settings with the values that underpin my work: respecting individual differences, supporting participation and listening to the child’s own experience.
